Information about monitoring Citizen CNC

On machines with Citizen control with Mitsubishi M70/M700 control, you only need to set a few network parameters. In principle, this coincides with the Mitsubishi control, but requires a different communication library, hence the need to separate the two controls.

Go to Maintenance -> Base Com Param or find setting number 1925.

If it is not possible to edit the parameters (it is not possible to move the arrows on the parameters list), it may be necessary to switch the setting first:

  1. Select the “MAINT” hard key
  2. Select “I/F DIAG” soft key
  3. Enter: 1001//M then press the “INPUT” soft key
  4. Now enter the “PARAM” hardkey – parameters can now be edited.

If parameter editing is possible, just set the parameters:

  • 1925 = 1 (interface enabled)
  • 1926 = machine IP address in LAN, e.g. 192.168.1.50
  • 1927 = Subnet mask, e.g. 255.255.255.0
  • 1928 = IP address of the gateway, e.g. the router in the LAN to which the machine is connected.
  • 1929 = 683 (communication port; important!)

Then restart the machine.

On machines with Mitsubishi M800 controllers the monitoring data is collected using the standard Mitsubishi protocol.

The next step is to use our SCT software to receive machine monitoring data from the machine and send it to the Scout server.
